PRINCELY TOUCH by Prince of Kolkatha

The Chennai Super Kings have been one of the most consistent sides of the IPL. They reached the finals in the first year, were there in the semi-finals of the second year and ultimately became the champions in the third year - all this bears testimony to their consistent performance in this shortened format.

They will definitely be strong candidates in CLT20 in South Africa. At one stage in IPL 2010, CSK were down and out, but they made a grand comeback at the end to not only qualify for the semis, but also win the tournament.

Their turnaround in the third IPL had a lot to do with the success of the spinners. One will have to wait and see how Ravichandran Ashwin, Jakati, Murali and other spinners will fare for CSK in completely different conditions in South Africa.

The Australian trio of Hayden, Hussey and Bollinger will be very important for Dhoni’s team in this tournament. Bollinger’s inclusion happened in the latter half of the IPL last year, and that made a huge difference to the CSK team - he will again be an important factor for his team on those fresh South African wickets.
Taking early wickets will be crucial, and Bollinger along with Morkel and the Indian seamers will have to take the responsibility for getting the breakthroughs.

CSK boasts of a strong batting line up. Raina will be very important for the team as he is a very competent T-20 player and has been in very good form of late. If Raina bats at No. 3, it will be a good test of his batting skills against the new ball, as he will be playing the Test series scheduled in South Africa later this year.
